About
My research follows two main veins:
1. Acculturation: I study the trajectory and developmental constraints of cultural adaptation by examining this process amongst Hong Kong immigrants in Vancouver.
2. Genetic Essentialism: With the nature vs. nurture argument for a plethora of scientific theories, the primary focus of science has been to find evidence to support one side or the other; what has been lost, however, is that, in the meantime, how does buying into either the nature or nurture side of an argument bias us towards certain cognitions?
3. Behaviour Genetics: A nascent vein for me, and is being done under the tutelage of sociologist, Dr. Neil Gross. Our goal is to examine the genetic contribution/heredity of political attitudes, and whether certain assumptions about genetic studies are tenable.
