About
Genevieve LeBaron is a SSHRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Liu Institute for Global Issues at the University of British Columbia and teaches at the Morgan Center for Labour Studies, Simon Fraser University. She is an External Fellow of York University's Center for International and Security Studies and Calumet College, and has been Visiting Scholar at Simon Fraser University's Center for Global Political Economy (2011-2012). Her Doctorate is from York University (Toronto) where she held a Graduate Fellowship for Academic Distinction, SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship, and President’s Dissertation Award. She has been a Caux Scholar and organized the Caux Forum for Human Security and Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy conferences in Caux, Switzerland. She is currently conducting Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)- funded research on the global acceleration of the worst forms of labor exploitation encompassed in the term unfree labor and the dynamics of global production. Her previous research has been published in WorkingUSA: Journal of Labor and Society (2012); Politics & Gender (2012), Review of International Political Economy (2010), Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society (2010), and Capital & Class (2008).
