About
I am a coastal archaeologist interested in food, both as a substance and a medium for understanding human social relations, human-environmental relations, and human-animal relations. I also am keen on visualization, zooarchaeology, data / knowledge sharing, and public outreach via the inter-web.
I am a fourth year Phd candidate in anthropology at UBC. My doctoral dissertation research is investigating the archaeology of indigenous resource management of fisheries and shellfisheries at a series of ancient and recent village communities in the Broken Group Islands archipelago on western Vancouver Island, Canada. This work is part of a research partnership between the Tseshaht First Nation and the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve of Canada.
